Joan Crawford made over one hundred television appearances in a twenty-year time frame. She only made thirteen movies after
her appearance at the 1953 Academy Awards ceremony (the first one to be telecast) but she was a regular on television. She
appeared as a regular guest on talk shows, she was a contestant on game shows, she endorsed products via commercials and she
made several cameo appearances on popular variety shows.
Joan Crawford's charisma, charm and comedic flair really showed through on television. This new technology showed a different
side of Joan. She was relaxed, candid, funny and her fans adored her even more due to these regular appearances on the small
screen. This page will list her extensive television appearences and the current television listings of Joan programs that
are being shown currently on the tube! Enjoy!

|
|

|
An all star cast turn out to support the war effort, and just happen to star in a film, (as themselves), at the same time.
Two soldiers on sick leave spend three nights at the Hollywood Canteen before going back to active duty. Slim (Robert Hutton)
is the lucky one millionth soldier to enter the canteen, his prize? A date with his dream girl, Joan Leslie. Slim's (Robert
Hutton) buddy Sergant (Dane Clark) dances with Joan Crawford and Canteen President Bette Davis praises the canteen for it's
part in the war effort. A pleasant enough documentary type film all rolled into one. If for no other reason, it's fun to play
spot the star!

Hollywood Revue (1929)
August 4th 2008 at 6:00am on Turner Classic Movies.

|

|
In an attempt to show off their stabe of stars, MGM gave us "Hollywood Revue of 1929" - With the breakaway from
silents to talkies, this was the perfect opportunity to showcase their stars. In a singing, dancing and acting extravaganza
the monotony of the format gets a little tiresome but it's fun to spot the famous faces. Joan sings "Gotta Feelin' for
You," amidst a dance specialty, finishing with the Biltmore Quartet.
