FILMS: Two film pages have been redesigned; "Hollywood Canteen" and "It's a Great Feeling." Both of these
films Joan made a cameo appearance in. Both films were filled with several popular stars at the time. Since Joan appeared
briefly in both films, the pages are short and sweet. "It's a Great Feeling" would be the second time people would
see Joan on the big screen in Technicolor, "The Ice Follies of 1939" being the first. Click the links below to view
the two new film pages.
Hollywood Canteen
It's a Great Feeling
FILM PHOTOS: Several photos have been added to the various film pages below:
- One photo and a very rare glass slide has been added to "The Circle" film page. The glass slide is very striking
on color. Also, an early rare magazine clipping from 1925 talks about Joan's "starring" role in the movie "The
Circle." Joan had anything but a starring role, she appeared very briefly in the film. Thanks Michelle for the slide!
The Circle
- An amazing fourteen photos have been added to the "Our Dancing Daughters" film page (4th photo in 4th row - four
photos in 9th row - entire 10th row - first two in 11th row and last two photos in 12th row). Also, two very colorful and
clear lobby cards have been added along with a few other pieces of memorabilia.
Our Dancing Daughters
-Seven new photos and one new poster have been added to the "Daisy Kenyon" film page (entire 7th row, last photo
in 12th row and photo in 14th row).
Daisy Kenyon
CRAWFORD'S MEN: Several photos and nostalgia have been added to the pages below:
Two new photos of Doug Fairbanks Jr. and Joan has been added. One is in the 1929 section (only photo in last row) and
the other photo is under the 1933 section (first photo in first row). Also, a very interesting newspaper article from 1933,
talks about details of their divorce (under the "Extra! Extra!" section). It's very interesting to read what some
of the details were. Sounds like they were both trying to cover up affairs!
Douglas Fairbanks Jr.
Six new photos have been added to the Franchot Tone page (one photo under 1935 - last photo in 4th row, 1936 - 2nd photo in
2nd row, 1937 - last photo in 4th row and 1939 - entire first row).

COMING ATTRACTIONS: The remake of "The Women" will be released later this year. Click the link below to get a glimpse
of the trailer for the film. There are a lot of mixed reactions so far to this film being remade - I am looking at it as a
positive thing - since it will raise awareness to the original film. I am sure after the remake flops, many will want to see
the original and how perfect it was.

FILMS: "They All Kissed the Bride" film page has been redesigned! I was originally redesigning the film pages in
chronological order, but I have been jumping around a bit. "They All Kissed the Bride" is the film that Carole Lombard
was filming during her tragic death. Not only did Joan volunteer to take over the role, but also she donated her entire salary
to the Red Cross in the name of Carole. I saw this film recently on TCM and it really is an enjoyable film and Joan is at
the height of her beauty in this film. To view the many photos and movie memorabilia from this film, click the link below.
This film page is dedicated to Donna Nowak!

Warren Cowan, 87; legendary Hollywood publicist,
died on May 14th 2008.
NEWS: Warren played a big part in campaigning for Joan to win the Oscar for her role in "Mildred Pierce." He was
a pioneer in this form of publicity. Warren generated buzz long before the film "Mildred Pierce" was released in
1945 and the buzz carried through the entire year. After the film was a huge hit the Oscar buzz followed Joan right up until
her win for Best Actress at the 1946 Academy Awards. Warren was a great man, I had the pleasure of meeting him this past February,
he spoke so highly of Joan. One of the stories I loved best that he told was, he went to visit Joan at her Brentwood home
and he was told to go to the back door prior to meeting Joan. He went to the back door and peered through the screen door
to see a woman with a handkerchief on her head scrubbing the floor on her hands and knees. Warren asked the woman (thinking
she was the maid) if Joan was available. The woman didn't look back and said "Come on in, it's me Joan!" LOVE that
story! You will be missed Warren, thank you for all you did for Joan and her amazing career. Click below to see Warren's full
obituary. The photo to the left of Warren was taken by me on February 25th 2008, it could possibly be the last photo taken
of Warren.
Warren Cowan's Obituary
COLLECTING: Added another crown jewel to my Joan Crawford glass film slide collection. I recently purchased the glass film
slide for "Laughing Sinners." This is a highly rare glass slide, notice on the upper left hand of the slide it says
"children 6-16 not admitted!" Love that. On the right hand of the slide it says "dramatic successor to 'Within
the Law.'" The film "Within the Law" was renamed to the film we all know as "Paid." So not only is
the slide rare but it has those little tidbits along with beautiful colorful graphics of Joan. Click the link below to see
all the glass slides in my collection. Thanks Michelle for tipping me off about this slide.:-)

EXCLUSIVE: A census report from 1900 has been posted to the "Early Years" section. This census report, from June
7th 1900, shows both Thomas and Anna LeSueur listed on it as a married couple. Now this census report is rather interesting
because it contradicts both Thomas and Anna's birth days and years. This census report says that Thomas LeSueur was born in
June of 1878 and that Anna was born in October of 1878 as well. This would have made them much younger than we all believed
them both to be (Thomas being 21 and Anna being 20 years old - as both ages are stated on the census). The census also has
their named spelled wrong; "LeSuer," fair enough typo. It shows they lived on 363 Camden Street in San Antonio,
Texas at this time and had NO children. So as of the summer of 1900, Joan's older sister, Daisy, had not been born yet. It's
an interesting census report showing that, yes, they could both read, write and speak English also that Tom is listed as a
"Laundry Man" for his employment. It's worth a fun look but as we can see with the the 1910 census, these census
reports were commonly riddled with errors. It is interesting that both of their birth years are listed as 1878. Did they BOTH
lie about their ages? One thing is for sure, if you look at the family photo at the "Early Years" link below you
will see that both Thomas and Anna look about the same age (mid twenties). If you go by the birth year Anna gave of 1884 and
Thomas' birth year of 1868 - Thomas would have been 16 years older than Anna. I don't think so! They both look to be about
the same age, so maybe they WERE both born in 1878? All I know, Anna was not born in 1884. Check out the census report at
link below. Thanks to Kat for sending this through to the site!

EARLY YEARS: Joan Crawford's brother, Hal LeSueur's, birth certificate has been posted to the "Early Years" page.
This birth certificate is really quite interesting. It shows that Hal was in fact born on September 3rd 1903, also it shows
Anna and Tom's name on the certificate and the place of birth was in San Antonio on 326 Rivers Street. What's even more interesting
is that if Hal had a birth certificate, so did Lucille (Joan), many people who knew her very well said she had a birth certificate
but destroyed it. I am determined to find Joan's birth year one way or another and I am on a hunt and will be doing a bit
of traveling. I am also working with a few people that will remain anonymous to finally put to rest the long lost mystery
of Joan's birth year. As we can see by Hal's birth year of 1903, there's no way that Joan could have been born in 1904. Joan's
birth year of 1905 is in question because of the ridculosly inaccurate 1910 census report that has Hal's age two years off
(he would have been only six years old in April of 1910 - his seventh birthday would have been that September, the census
lists his age as eight years old). This census report says that Joan was five years old but it's likely to be wrong since
Anna's age is also wrong (Anna would have been 26 years old in 1910, not 28 years old as the inaccurate 1910 census report
claims). ALSO, Henry Casssin would have been at least 43 years old in 1910 and the 1910 census says he was only 38! The census
doesn't add up at all - Henry, Anna and Hal's ages are way off and, most likely, so is Joan's. The most likely birth year
for Joan is 1906, it's said Joan gave her birth year of 1906 when enrolling in Stephens College in 1922 and it's the year
she used early on in her MGM career. Joan's birth year has yet to be proven with an official document but the hunt is on!!!

NOTICE: On April 8th (today) the Bette Davis Centenary Celebration Collection will be released to honor her 100th birthday.
"Hush...Hush, Sweet Charlotte" is being re-released in this box set with a special documentary called Hush...Hush,
Sweet Joan: The Making of Charlotte. BEWARE! I was originally told that this would include the long lost footage of Joan,
but it turns out it doesn't include the footage. I have not seen this first hand, but a few fans have emailed me and told
me the lost footage of Joan still remains "lost." My apologies for the earlier post expressing that the documentary
called Hush...Hush, Sweet Joan: The Making of Charlotte would not include anything that we have not already seen. BUMMER!
